Wow...let's see. It's almost Thanksgiving, which is probably tied for my favorite holiday of the entire year. I've enjoyed it because it means "huo guo"...oh, and family and friends are always around. That's the best part actually. It's gonna be pretty strange this year, especially considering that we are still planning on having the dinner at home in Sunnyvale on Thanksgiving Thursday, this time without mom. Every sense of normalcy is there around us, but it will just be different and it might be difficult as well.
Friends. Doin' their own thing now, and that is totally cool. I just wish I could feel a sense of unity everytime we are all in town without having one person coordinate to "try to get everyone to come"; instead, it would be cool if everyone makes equal effort to see each other. That's when things are fun! And that feeling with family and friends and food is what makes me thankful, and what makes Thanksgiving what it is: a holiday of substance minus all the fluff.
